CHS Consulting Group’s licensed Traffic and Electrical
Engineers are leaders in cutting-edge technologies and current
practices. Our Traffic Engineers have more than 30 years of experience
in the design and operation of traffic signal systems for Caltrans,
local cities and counties, and transit agencies. We have unique experience
in designing signals along the light rail lines with signal pre-emption
for light rail vehicles, red light camera enforcement, signal
interconnect involving combined hardwire, telephone dialup, and
wireless technologies, such as spread spectrum radio technology,
and area-wide traffic signal systems.
Our traffic signal systems range from simple isolated intersection
signals to complex interconnected area-wide or citywide traffic
control and management systems. We have harnessed recent advances
in computer, vehicle detection, and communications technologies
to provide an increased sophistication in all levels of traffic
signal planning and design. Engineering expertise in this area
requires more than the selection of poles, signal heads, controllers,
conduits, and other intersection equipment and their installation
details. We bring a thorough understanding of signal operations
and state-of-the-art signal controller, vehicle detection, and
communications technologies to each of our projects.
