Serve as project manager for various types of transportation planning projects,
developing scope, budget, staffing availability, and schedule for major public
and private sector transportation projects; direct and perform complex
technical analyses for surface transportation projects, using computer
software, such as TRAFFIX, GIS, SYNCHRO, FREQ, and PARAMICS; supervise
subordinate transportation planners engaged in the gathering and analysis of
traffic data required by senior planner to identify issues and propose
recommendations to client; direct and provide leadership to team in preparation
of final reports, technical reports and technical memoranda; attend technical
advisory committee and public meetings to communicate study findings and
recommendations; prepare technical proposals and attend project interviews for
small to medium-size projects; attend and provide input at marketing meetings
to identify leads and propose collaborative partners for new planning projects.
Require M.S. degree in
Urban Planning, Transportation Planning, Civil Engineering, or a closely
related field, and minimum 5 years progressively responsible professional
experience with an emphasis on traffic operations, transit planning, and
EIS/EIR preparation. Req. experience in
travel demand forecasting, traffic simulation models, parking studies, and
project management.
